Happy New Year!!

Wow - 2013 already!!!  Where did the past year go. Those words seem to be echoed by many as the time quickly passes by.

There are always workers, and supervisors
Pumpkin Patch
This past week was a little less hectic than some of the past weeks.  The days out on the trail were far more relaxed as we left later in the morning and often came home by early afternoon.  We visited some of the odd geological sites - pumpkin patch, mud pots, as well as slot canyon and the drop-off.   The pumpkin patch is comprised of sandstone concretions.  Slot canyon is a very pretty, rather narrow canyon but wide enough to easily drive through.  The drop-off is a little more exciting - it is a rather steep hill with some fairly significant holes.  This hill is one-way as it is too rough and too steep to go up so down we went.  Midway through one of our daily trips, someone discovered that they had a problem when a part broke.  While one can sometimes expect this to happen if the terrain is very rocky but it doesn't usually happen in areas where we had been - today was the exception.
New Years Day Brunch

New Year's eve was rather cool.  Several of us sat around the fire until it was time to bring in the New Year - New York time!!  I even was able to bring in the New Year Regina time!

New Year's day we had our traditional pot-luck brunch.  Once again, with a beautiful blue sky, we were able to enjoy a large variety of food.  Of course, the first course was champagne and orange juice.  Pot-lucks are such a treat as it allows us the opportunity to try a variety of delicious foods.

Last night we made a fire and let it develop into some great coals.  For supper we made bush pies - pizza, and eggs, and for dessert we made saskatoon ones.  Yummy!!!!

It's finally time to get some work done.  I cut up some denim pieces that I had and made a throw rug.  Gerry did some maintenance on the motorhome so that's another on off the list.

As the first week of 2013 draws to a close, I would like to wish all our Ukrainian friends a very Merry Christmas -  Веселе Різдво!!!!
